We wanted to let you know more about a hosting setting update going into effect August 1st. We’re hoping this gives you plenty of time to let us know if you have any questions or need any resources - we’re here to help!

What's changing?

Preparation time: Up to 1 day before and after each reservation

Hosts have the option to set a 1 day buffer before and after each guest stay.

Why this change?

Back in March, when research and guidance on COVID-19 was limited, Loftium instituted up to 72 hours between bookings to take the most conservative approach based on available knowledge at the time. Now that the CDC has collected data on transmission, they have updated their safety guidelines: if a person suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 has been in an overnight space, the CDC recommends waiting up to 24 hours before beginning cleaning and disinfection. We're updating our policies accordingly to align with Airbnb's recommendations and the current CDC guidelines. As of August 1st, hosts may set 1 day of preparation time at their discretion between guest stays to ensure safe cleaning practices, along with increasing available nights for guests to book.

How will this work?

We're updating this setting now in preparation for guest stays starting August 1st should you need to update your cleaning schedule ahead of time.

⚠️ Review and complete the following steps for your listing by July 9th!

  1. Update your listing's Preparation Time: This can be found in your listing's Availability settings, under Reservation preferences. Choose Preparation time > Block 1 night before and after each reservation.
  2. If necessary, manually block July cleaning days: You may choose to manually block up to 72 hours after a guest stay through July 31.

If you haven’t updated your listing by July 9th, we’ll do it for you! We won’t manually block additional days between bookings during the three week transition period and that’s why we encourage you to update your settings should you need to block dates in July.

Above all, your safety and that of your guest’s is deeply important to us, and we will keep you updated along the way with hosting resources and guidance. We’re grateful to have you as part of the Loftium community.
